It always pulls together a design inspired by the the local neighbourhoods and immerses the guests into a creative expressions of local culture. Andaz is a Hindi word meaning “personal style”, which represents well the brand’s mission to offer an elevated reflection of the destination’s culture through the architecture and interior design of the hotel.
We have stayed at the Andaz Dubai The Palm, the first Andaz branded hotel in Dubai and the second in the United Arab Emirates. It has also launched an exclusive summer staycation offer to spoiled those who cannot travel at the moment considering the unfortunate world event of Covid-19.
So if you are looking for a new edgy place to stay in Dubai, discover the Andaz with us!
Where is the Andaz Dubai The Palm Located
The Andaz Dubai The Palm is located on the Palm Jumeirah, one of two of Dubai’s palm-shaped artificial group of islands that stretch out into the Arabian Gulf. The hotel is positioned halfway down the palm. The Andaz Dubai The Palm is on a 300m private beach, walking distance of the newly opened Nakheel Shopping Mall, which is home to 300+ outlets. You won’t be short of restaurants and leisure attractions. Usually, if you choose to stay on the Palm Jumeirah, you should not plan too much sightseeing as traffic can be annoying during peak hours, but it is also a bit further away from the main sightseeing places in Dubai.
Facilities at the Andaz Dubai The Palm
You can find the gym facilities (a well-equipped with TechnoGym gear), spa, pool and all the usual suspects here! The bonus is the infinity pool, closer by the beach, after a walk through landscaped gardens. Although the pool is not 100% private as you will share it with the neighbouring residences. You can find at its 14th-floor the adults-only and temperature-controlled pool and the Ora Boutique Spa, where you can also access a steam room, sauna and relaxing area. There are four treatment rooms, including one for couples. Treat yourself to body massages, body scrubs, aromatherapy treatments and facials as well. I needed a facial and felt very refreshed after a whole day lounging by the pool.
During these times, the hotel’s beach is open to guests in compliance with the preventive and safety measures, with mandatory physical distancing between individuals. Both the adults-only Cabana Pool and the main family-friendly infinity pool overlooking the beach open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, operating with a restricted capacity to adhere to Government guidelines.
Though it was not yet ready during our visit, the beach-club concept La Coco is planned to be opened soon.
There is a bar and snack/food menu you can request to eat and drink by the rooftop pool. This was certainly something which we enjoyed a lot! Don’t miss on the sweet potato fries as well, trust us on that!
Rooms at the Andaz Dubai The Palm
Andaz by Hyatt – Palm Jumeirah has 217 rooms, all of which are individually decorated and furnished beautifully. Rooms are vibrant and full of colours without going too much over the top; the perfect balance. Beds feature down comforters and premium bedding. We stayed in an Andaz Deluxe Suite, a 118-square-meter suite, with 2 bathrooms, including a separate bathtub and a shower with rainfall showerheads, bathrobes, slippers, and designer toiletries. Rooms include complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea makers. We really enjoyed the living area which has a very large dining table and spacious couch, making it way larger than the bedroom itself. The room and bathroom layouts are a bit small, but it is really up to preference, I personally loved the homey living area as it is perfect to hang around. Also for families with a baby, the crib is free upon request!
Our Experience the Andaz Dubai The Palm
As you enter the airy and high-ceiling lobby, you are welcomed by the team as they sit you comfortably while going through the welcome ritual of refreshing drinks. All this whilst inquiring for your travel documents to check you in. Adding to the smooth arrival, guests receive a beach bag with a branded sunhat and flip flops to make the experience even more enjoyable. Walking to your room, the hotel hallway serves as an art gallery featuring Arabic calligraphy and art.
With an extraordinary breakfast at The Locale, it was difficult to not eat a lot and spend a tad longer at the dining area. The food is delicious and fresh as the team sources as much produce locally and regionally as they can. Not only its high ceiling area is inviting for a longer stay to lounge and nibble, but the service from the team is also impeccable. The hotel’s eco-friendly passion extends to its part-restaurant, part-concept store, where you can find beautiful handmade pieces created mostly by local designers. Tough to resist walking away without buying a piece!
Andaz Dubai The Palm are giving guests 30% off at all-day neighbourhood hangout The Locale.
Directly above The Locale is the Andaz Lounge. Another artsy, colourful and playful unconventional take on a traditional business lounge. It’s tough to ignore the electric vibes in the room with the furniture and artwork. It is an inspiring space to sit down for a coffee or a drink, whether it is for business or leisure.
For dining, on the hotel’s 15th-floor rooftop, go to the Japanese hang out Hanami to enjoy street food dishes in a cosy but sophisticated setting. The decor of the restaurant is quite inviting with neon lights and an overall dimmed set up. It is perfect for date nights giving you a notion of ‘privacy’ where you feel your table is the only one in the room. You can read a Hanami review to get familiar with the dining concept there.
Allowing residents to enjoy a well-deserved beach break in safety by strictly following UAE government regulations, Andaz Dubai The Palm gives guests the chance to swap their self-isolation scenery for the golden shorelines of Palm Jumeirah with a summer staycation offer that starts from just AED 599++.
Note that this review was done in March and since the reopening, the Andaz Dubai The Palm is strictly following the current local safety regulations, including appointing a Hygiene Manager to oversee the hourly sanitation procedure, shower facilities beside the pool operating for guests to use before and after going into the pool as well as guests being required to bring their own towels.
