One of the experiences that were arranged at the Fullerton Bay Hotel was the Side Car experience, run with the Side Car Singapore company. As the name suggests, you are given a total sidecar experience, you get to sit in it as you are taken around the streets of Singapore, all while learning about the culture and history of this new tiny nation. It is a great feeling to fly around the city, looking at it from a unique point of view.
While it looks like a small seating area, we were able to fit me in the sidecar. I am approximately 186cm and 100kg so If I can, then most of you will be able to enjoy the same experience as I did. It is a weird feeling once you get rolling. Unless you have done this before, it is an extremely unfamiliar feeling to be so close to the ground. Everything feels faster, and you really can take notice of the surrounding environment as well.

We were taken around in a 15-20 minute loop starting from the Fullerton Bay Hotel. My loop included a visit to the National Gallery, Marina Bay Sands, all while having a great chat to the driver about Singapore’s historical spots and why they are important today. With the sun beating down, it is recommended that you get some sunscreen out as you are quite exposed to the elements when on the road, including smoke from some vehicles if you have trouble breathing.
Everything feels so much faster and real when you are this close to the ground. We took the Formula One street circuit and followed it around until we got to Singapore’s main attraction, Marina Bay Sands. Before we knew it, our time in the car was up, and we had to head back. They say time flies when you’re having fun, and it went super quick.
