Eat in Dubai: Cafe Des Artistes

This place is ideal for special occasions with your beau, looks so beautiful during daylight
The service is slow, they just opened so not much staff yet.
The food you need to order: The risotto, don’t miss that
We loved the decor, so Instagram friendly <3
We didn’t like … the bill, it is not for a daily bite unless you have a thick wallet!
Bill for two is around 500 AED if you go full on 3 courses and 2 drinks each.

Based at the famous Dubai eating hub Box Park, Cafe Des Artistes is a French fine dining destination has just opened up its doors to the public mid December.

As we walked in, we couldn’t help being super impressed with the decor of the place. It just gave a very classy feel to it. The owner must also have a fascination with horses as they are the centrepiece to many designs there.

As we sat down we couldn’t help staring at the huge dessert range at the counter but eating that would have to come later! As usual, we asked to be surprised for our mocktails and we so happy that they bought out these beauties. The spot is quite limited for breakfast and too pricey to spend that much on brekkie. Its afternoon tea looked amazing from our neighbours table, but we decided to discover some appetizers and mains as we skipped lunch.

First of all, as all proper french joints should be, we were served some homemade bread with delicious Mushroom butter an Lime infused oil. We needed a refill, it was way too good. For appetizers, Beef Tartare & Lobster Ravioli was on our list. They were both delicious, yet too overpriced for what it actually tasted. It was very good, but the price did not give it justice. For mains we opted for the Beef Tenderloin, Slow Cooked Octopus with Truffle Fries and Mushroom Risotto. Mitch loved the Beef Tenderloin as it was very well cooked, you need to order some sides though as it comes with only a few garnishes. The Octopus was good, huge too, although was not flabbergasted by it. Truffle fries you never can go wrong with it, the aroma and flavour of truffle oil is always exciting! Our favorite part of all was actually the Risotto.

Dubai has many restaurants and eateries, we rarely go back to the same place unless we want to bring some friends & family to the place. If we had to go back to Cafe des Arts for a specific, we would say for its Risotto! They really should make it as one of their star mains!

For dessert, we simply tried one of each of their pastries, they are delicious. Sure is a good spot for afternoon tea coffee with pastries!
