Iftars you need to try in Dubai 2017

If you are traveling to Dubai for this upcoming month until Thursday June 14th, you will be right into Ramadan. Although some restaurants stay open, you should try the Iftar experience, when the muslims will break fast. We have compiled a list of Iftars in Dubai you should try. We have added some of our favourite dishes and recommendations. Try them out and tell us what you think!

Iftar Menu @ Bombay Bungalow

This ifar is a steal! for 110 AED, you will get fed a four course meal, from the breaking fast round 1 with chutney & peanuts with dates and a fruit platter, followed by round 2 of starters with fish, lamb, kebab and chicken (we were stuffed after starters), then a massive round 3 of mains with 2 types of curry, 2 different daals, a chicken biryani, a lamb biryani, and some little extras. PLEASE keep some space for desserts which shows the creativity of what Bombay Bungalow really is. Worth for a visit for normal dinner!

Indian Iftar in Dubai

The iftar is in the  Constellation Ballroom and is a beautiful Arabesque vibe, with a wide international selection of food and our favourite part being the live oud player. They play popular music with the oud which is amazing too!

Common Grounds

Come try a vegan iftar! It’s a three course a la carte menu including dishes like the vegan mushroom and chia burger, and vegan bread and butter pudding with tonka ice cream.

BHAR @ Renaissance Downtown Hotel Dubai

If you are around downtown, worth passing by the selection of food of Chef Mohanad’s favorite regional Ramadan dishes at BHAR which is a Modern Middle Eastern Restaurant. There will be delicious slow-cooked lamb shoulder, grilled Chilean seabass, etc.

Asateer by Atlantis

Traditional oud players, dancers, beautiful decoration and glittering lights, this tent must be one of the most outstanding ones. You will sure enjoy the ultimate Ramadan experience and have a strong feeling of Ramadan there! The food is exclusively Arabic and with typical Ramadan classics like the ouzi. The dessert station was better than everything else, with a lot to offer. Umm ali, baklava, Turkish delight, macaroon tree and our fav: Turkish ice cream!

If you are looking for a traditional Arabic dishes with some Thai selections from the award-winning Benjarong Royal Thai restaurant, you can get it all from the Dusit Thani.

Fairuz @ Fairmont The Palm

If you are looking for another Palm Jumeirah iftar, join Fairuz at the Fairmont the Palm. The food is great and the room is colourful. We didn’t enjoy the entertainment music choices, but other than that, everything was good!

Crescendo Anantara Iftar

Crescendo iftar has everything, separated in little themed stations with nice Ramadan decorations. It has a huge cheese selection, amazing street food from India that you absolutely have to try and much more. We do love Iftars that offer more than just Arabic cuisine as it does break the streak of days in a row of Arabic Cuisine Iftars.

Crescendo Iftar Dubai Anantara

Kaftan at La Mer

Come to see La Mer and have a mix of Ottoman and Turkish iftar with views to the beach! You will have a mix of traditional dishes, contemporary interpretations and fusion plates served in a buffet setting. Testi Kebabs, Kuzu Kol Tandir (8 hour slow cooked lamb), over 60 different cold fezzes, grills and 25 different desserts including Kaftans famous Baklava.

Dubai Opera

Ready for a special iftar? Dubai Opera transformed its auditorium into a flat floor with ornate decorations. Award-winning restaurant Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera will prepare special dishes including sustainable hammour prepared in shakshouka style, slow-cooked beef cheek, whole roast duck and chicken, salmon en croute and a trio of changing biryanis.

Turkish Flavours at Besh, Sheraton Mall of Emirates

We enjoy seeing all the food being cooked live as supposed to a buffet steel bucket with food being refilled in the background. To have eaten at Besh before, we do enjoy better a normal evening of food there as we can taste the extra love given int the cooking of all the kebabs. We were a bit sad they didn’t have the Manti’s, a Turkish dumpling in yogurt, which we usually love, but the Turkish ice cream came to same our moods and forget about it quite fast!

Besh Iftar Dubai turkish

Healthy Iftar at Ostro, Dusit D2

This Iftar has no extra glitz and glamour of the typical Ramadan tent, but is in the beautiful hidden design gem, Ostro, in Barsha Heights. The restaurant prides itself on locally sourced and fresh food, including experimenting with homegrown nutritious greens. If you are looking for a healthy Iftar during the holy month, using real, wholefood ingredients, this is your place to be! We also loved that they left on the table little flyers with tips for a healthy balanced iftar, on how to break your fast safely and with maximum benefit for body and mind.

Ostro Iftar Dubai 2017

Boardwalk @ Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club

If you are looking for something completely different, the Boardwalk at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club will offer you a set menu of shish taouk, lamb kofta, falafel, kibbeh, and all those Arabic dishes with a picturesque views while floating down the Creek in a bright orange donut. This donut can fit 8 people.

A Japanese Iftar @ Ramusake

If you feel like avoiding buffets and Arabic food, you can go to the lavish iftar set menu of Ramusake served from 6.30 PM to 8 PM daily. It’s a four-course sharing menu ideally for 2 people or more. You will be trying around 14 dishes including some of their award-winning signature plates, such as Tuna Sashimi Pizza, Nasu Dengaku and Steamed Seabass. As fro drinks, VOSS sparkling and still water is included.

Bombay Bungalow

If you like Indian food, you sure will have to go for an iftar with an Indian twist on JBR. There will be fresh fruits, dates platter, salad, a tikka platter, butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, stir fried greens, daal, a choice of biryani and a dessert platter.

Burj Al Arab

If you are visiting Dubai then might be worth it to book an iftar there to have the chance to see this icon of Dubai! The iftar is in the Al Falak Ballroom which is inspired by a Viennese opera house. For Ramadan, it is transformed into a palatial hall dressed in Arabesque patterns. Don’t miss the ice cream from the Turkish trolley. We love it!

Ewaan Ramadan Tent at the Palace Downtown

It offers a great Arabic buffet served in a traditional Arabic tent. The tent part extends from the terrace into the gardens, you can also hear the Dubai fountains blowing outside from there! Get there early and enjoy the view of the cannon going off to signal the breaking of the fast.
