This October, Ireland is bringing its warmth and culinary soul to Singapore. From 15 October to 15 November 2025, Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board) invites food lovers to discover A Taste of Ireland: Samhain Edition — a month-long dining celebration that connects Ireland’s ancient harvest traditions with the city’s vibrant dining scene.
If Halloween to you means costumes and candy, think again. Long before pumpkins and trick-or-treating, there was Samhain (pronounced “Sow-in”), a 2,000-year-old Celtic festival marking the end of harvest and the start of winter. It was about community, gratitude, and of course, incredible food. Now, some of Singapore’s most celebrated restaurants are reviving that story through Irish produce and creative menus.
Where to Experience “A Taste of Ireland” in Singapore
From Sentosa to the city centre, six restaurants are participating in this delicious homage to Irish heritage.
Carnaby
Chef Adam Penney reimagines Irish harvest flavours with What’s the Quack? ($38), a hearty confit duck leg from the Irish Duck Company served with colcannon, charred sprouts, wild blackberries, and hot honey-thyme jus. Pair it with Shanky Panky ($22) — a cocktail of Born Irish Whiskey, Shanky Whip, Campari, and blood-orange bitters — for that warm pub-style Irish spirit.
Boaters Bar @ ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove
Singapore’s only floating bar celebrates Ireland’s connection between land and sea. Try the Char-Grilled Irish Oysters($16++ for 2) with herb butter and sea salt, or the Irish Duck Breast ($38++) with Blackpitts orange reduction, red-wine pear, and creamy mash — perfect with sunset marina views.
UMMI Beirut
This Mediterranean favourite joins the festival with a special four-course set menu ($88++ per person, served for two). Expect lentil soup shots, hummus Beiruti, Ostra Regal Oysters with pomegranate molasses, and 7 Spices Duck Leg with Orange Glaze — finished with a Cannoli Baklawa and Irish ice cream. It’s hearty, Halal-friendly, and full of heart.
Cygnet by Sean Connolly (QT Singapore)
Here, comfort meets indulgence with a tender Irish fillet atop buttery colcannon, finished with a silky whiskey cream sauce ($68). A must-try if you love soulful grill dishes with a refined edge.
Brasserie Astoria
Set inside the elegant Victoria Theatre, Astoria’s Aged Irish Duck with browned-butter hollandaise, salad verte, and spicy pommes frites is a refined nod to Ireland’s autumn harvest.
Morsels
Chef Petrina Loh brings her signature fermentation-driven creativity to Irish produce — expect earthy, umami-rich surprises that blend Irish and Asian sensibilities beautifully.
The Story Behind Samhain
Over two millennia ago, the Celts gathered at Samhain to share food, light fires, and celebrate abundance. This festival eventually inspired many Halloween traditions we know today. A Taste of Ireland revives that sense of togetherness — but in modern Singaporean fashion, through top-tier restaurants and ingredients that travel straight from Ireland’s lush pastures and cold Atlantic waters.
Ireland’s Commitment to Sustainability
Behind every dish lies Ireland’s dedication to sustainability. The country’s Origin Green program is the world’s first national food-and-drink sustainability initiative, with over 61,000 farmers and 300 companies ensuring responsible, traceable production. As Bord Bia’s Southeast Asia Director Lisa Phelan shares, “From the Atlantic coast to Singapore’s dining tables, these collaborations reflect our shared respect for provenance, creativity, and sustainability.”
Why You Should Go
For food lovers, this is more than just a dining campaign — it’s an edible story of heritage, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Whether you’re craving coastal oysters, rich duck, or a perfectly seared Irish beef fillet, A Taste of Ireland: Samhain Edition offers a unique way to celebrate Halloween’s true roots.
