Singapore Brunches: Brunch di Fine Settimana at Regent Hotel Singapore

Brunches in Singapore: Basilico at Regent Hotel Singapore

The Basilico Brunch is known as a must-try Singapore Brunch. There is limited seating at the Brunch due to COVID, which means you will need to book in advance! It is quite full for our visit so make sure you secure your reservation early, especially at Manhattan Bar if you fancy continuing your drinking festivities post-brunch! If you can, try and go close to the window to overlook the pool and enjoy the blue skies while feasting. The brunch starts at 12 pm and finishes at 3 pm. The free flow will stop slightly earlier.

Located in the Regent Hotel, there are several busses that run outside and the nearest MRT, Orchard Station, is approximately 900m for the Regent Hotel.

Quality, fresh food is served A La Carte instead of the traditional Buffet style that is now common to Singapore Brunches. Food will come out as you go through the menu, so there is no need to even bother ordering! If you like something more than another, you can ask for more and it will be made especially for you.

Starters at Brunch di Fine Settimana at Regent Hotel

As we are seated and order our drinks, we started off with the quick arriving Appetizers. They consist of Camone, Merinda and Datterino Tomatoes with Basil Pesto, Putignano Burrata and Buffalo Mozzarella, 36 months-cured Parma Ham and Rock Melon, Mediterranean Antipasti Selection and a Selection of Aged Italian Cheeses with Mostarda.

Our first course consists of Oven Baked Truffle Focaccia, worthy of every bite with its crispy dough, followed by Porcini Mushroom and Black Truffle Risotto and this is one of the more interesting dishes. The service comes around and they flake the Norcia black truffles on the risotto. We have never seen truffles pieces this big before! The focaccia was eaten the quickest and we were already invited to move on to the other dishes. The light tasting pizza has really left us wanting for more but we had to be disciplined to save space for the other courses!

Mains at Brunch di Fine Settimana at Regent Hotel

The standard dishes that are prepared are Grilled Sea Bass, Angus Beef Sirloin served with Roasted Vegetables and Rosemary Potatoes. The beef has just the right amount of fat to keep the taste locked in and is delicious.

So when you are ordering, you get to choose from either the normal menu or if you feel like splashing out and enjoying a bit more, you can order the luxury items. We went for this option and it includes the whole menu above plus: Poached Boston Lobster, Alaskan King Crab, Tiger Prawns, Queen Scallops, Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with Wild Rocket and Aged Parmesan Cheese, Pan-roasted Foie Gras with Balsamico and Grilled Lamb Chop for good measure.

We can’t honestly decide which one is my favourite dish and am way too full to order any more but the Carpaccio is light and I can go for another round.

Desserts Brunch di Fine Settimana at Regent Hotel

What is a brunch without a great dessert set to finish it off? We had it come out right at 3pm as the brunch closes. It consists of Vanilla Mascarpone Cream, Sea Salt Caramel Fudge, Puff Pastry Texture with Exotic Sorbet, Sicilian Pistachio Teacake with Amarena Cherry Confit, Young Coconut Panna Cotta with Mango Green Lime Salsa, Amedei Dark Chocolate Cake with Caramel Roasted Nut and Lemon Yuzu Tart with Citrus Meringue.

The desserts are bite-size so you will not be able to share each so make sure you order one of each for everyone at the table. My advice is to try the Salt Caramel Fudge, a game changer!

Our overall experience at Brunch di Fine Settimana at Regent Hotel

We loved our afternoon brunch experience at Basilico. The food is on point and the service is knowledgeable and comes out super fast. Our seat next to the window is prime and we certainly recommend trying to sit here. The food is made as you order so it’s fresh and tasty.

Things you should note:

  • It is a popular brunch so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment
  • If you like lighter settings for photoshoots, request to be near the big windows
  • Make sure you know when they stop serving alcohol so you are not left disappointed when they stop serving you free flow.
  • Come with an empty stomach and leave room for desserts!
