Discover what it is like to Stay, Eat, Have fun and Relax in Dubai at Dusit Thani Dubai, the Thai themed hotel chain located just across the road from the famous Dubai Mall.
As 2016 winded down, mid-December was full on preparing for a last minute destination pick for our Christmas travels. AdventureFaktory needed to indulge in a little stay-cation while the family was visiting here in Dubai. We settled our beautiful room up the 30th floors of the Marina for them to enjoy wile we headed closer to Downtown at Dusit Thani Dubai.
Where is Dusit Thani situated in Dubai?
Dusit Thani literally is across the road from the Dubai Mall, a must see attraction in Dubai which makes it a great spot to stay for visitors as well. The hotel offers many complimentary shuttles to the Mall, so this is quite convenient. If there was a staircase or bridge from our window to the Mall, I think we would get even faster than by car! We took a cab to it and that ride was about 10 minute drive (will be faster with less traffic). Very good central location.
Going into detail, Dusit Thani is located on Sheikh Zayed road, where are plenty of hotels, fast food restaurants and bars across the strip, and walking distance too! The metro is around a 5 minute walk so it’s very convenient.
Staying at Dusit Thani Dubai
We were greeted upon check in by amazing traditional Thai dancers in the lobby (it is recurrent, that wasn’t just for us!) and the whole foyer having a rich but pleasant aroma of lemongrass, we just love that smell.
We checked in the Executive Suite – Burj Khalifa View, facing Dubai Mall and with it, the mighty Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world at the moment. The suites are quite affordable at around 750+ AED (205$US). For only 100 AED (35-40$US) more, you can get the Club Executive room, to have the Airport Transfer and Breakfast included. The bigger rooms are actually very affordable too. Of course, beware when booking the weekends, the price could be quite higher if they are busy!
Back to the Burj Khalifa view, even though we live in Dubai, seeing it close up is still a wondrous sight. The room is so spacious, with it containing its own study and living area. We really enjoy having the bed and separate living room area, especially if you want to entertain guests.
We really enjoyed our stay at Dusit Thani Dubai. Note that with our room came a Handy phone, which as a tourist is perfect to walk around with internet to know how to get around! One thing we really wish we did was the spa treatment. Next time! If you consider this hotel for your stay in town, we totally support your decision as it is a great price for value stay, super central and helpful staff!
How is the brunch at Dusit Thani Dubai?
The important question when you stay at a hotel! Well the answer is: it’s great! After our fitness morning, we headed off to the brunch. This was on level 24, combining ALL their restaurants,Benjarong, Pax and The Californian, into one MEGA BRUNCH. After getting a view of the Burj Khalifa at our table, we got stuck into the huge range of quality food.
Loved the Dim Sum and Momo availabilities, I mean unlimited Dim Sum is our heaven. There is a Thai Live station and the Thai soup/noodle station was quite amazing; they do custom Thai Salads there as well. BBQ Stations and Italian stations were also available with a chef cooking live for you.
In terms of choice, there are many cuisines available; this brunch is quite a jack pot! Italian, Seafood, Sushi, Thai, Tons of cheese, bread, cold cuts, Peking duck (!!!), Fish & Chips, in a nutshell, we couldn’t try everything. There was THAT much food. To be honest, we had high expectations for Dim Sums and Peking Duck and it wasn’t as great as everything else. They sure rocked the Thai so focus your appetite on that and seafood. Our big winners are the Thai food and the Cannelloni, don’t you miss that one!
Eat & Drink at Dusit Thani Dubai
Dusit Thani Dubai is the home of many good destinations, on the 1st floor there is Jones The Grocer and a quite popular bar, Nippon Bottle company. Like we wrote before, at L24 there is 3 restaurants. We went for dinner at Benjarong. The range of Thai food was incredible, it was like being in Bangkok again! Great quality, but definitely fine dining and not budget. Our favourites: Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Thai Tea (super well done, some places make it way too sweet) and the desserts are well done, the authentic thing!
All four of us, had the 299 AED (80$US) feast for two, which gave us sharing plates of starters, mains and desserts. While it was quality food, when we received the bill, we thought it was 299 AED for two (it wasn’t mentioned on the menu it was per pax), which would’ve been really good price for the quantity and plates we had. But it was 299 AED each! Which was totally not worth the price per person. If we knew about it, we would’ve ordered, for the same value, different plates for the same value and tryout more delicious dishes. That was the only bummer, but food is really delicious, you should try it out!
If you are a local from Dubai. Benjarong is available on The Entertainer 2 for 1 guide, go try it out now and use it!

Spa facilities at Dusit Thani Dubai
There is a spa, but we didn’t go! With the family around, we spent our time with them and didn’t hide away to get our relaxing alone time. Namm Spa is also available on The Entertainer, Body Guide, so get over there and get 2 for 1 sessions!
Dusit Thani has a basic fitness area that allows you to burn off some of those desserts we ate. Quite an unique set up we have never seen before. After trying that out, we hit the roof for the Pool. It had a little bar next to it, even with the limited sun that comes through, it is a cool spot to relax. Tip: beers are CHEAP!
