A Different Staycation Experience
Having a staycation in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in Singapore will surely be a very different experience from what we are used to before. The authorities have enforced quite rigid rules and regulations that hotels and guests have to follow, which will make your experience obviously more restricting. As you know, the industry has been heavily affected and our collaboration and patience as guests has a big role to play in the the recovery of the tourism industry.
The experience obviously begins with every guest having to have their temperature taken before entering the hotel. They will be screened for their temperature to ensure they are not unwell and exhibiting any symptoms such as sneezing or coughing. If you have a normal flu, this might be tough luck for you.
Just for check-in, the total occupancy in the lobby is limited to no more than a single individual per 10 sqm of space, so do expect a slower check-in and out timings. Most hotels will have a schedule time of check-in arrange prior arrival, which your collaboration will also be very important.
Obviously, guests have to wear a mask within the hotel, except in their rooms, when engaging in strenuous activity or when eating/drinking. Some hotels also implemented online check-ins, suspended valet services and the serving of welcome drinks is recommended to be stopped or done in the guest rooms instead of the lobby.
