With no blackout dates for points redemptions, Marriott International announced for August 2018 its new loyalty program with one set of unified benefit across Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) .
You will be able to ALWAYS earn points when you book a room. This covers 29 participating global brands, including 6,500 hotels in 127 countries and territories, we hope you have your passport ready for some travels!
Best part for people that like activities and experiences, their Moments experiential platform will be constantly expanding, with currently counting more than 110,000 experiences in 1,000 destinations. This includes attraction tickets and tours guests can book with cash, but also unique other experiences only available to members using points. This will be their new bespoke product called Moments Live event series.
Can I still redeem points until August 2018?
So you should and as of August 2018 you will be able to combine all your separate points from Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG into a single account! The unique loyalty program names will stay under the new set of unified benefits until they come up with a new name to be introduced only next year in 2019.
Where is the best place to book?
Proceed to your regular way to book, but from August, you will be able to book stays across the entire portfolio on Marriott.com, SPG.com and their respective mobile apps.
What will be the different tiers?
- You can reach Silver elite status after 10 nights
- Gold elite status will be granted after reaching 25 nights
- Platinum elite status will be for those that have stayed 50 nights
- Platinum Premier elite status can be earned after 75 nights
Platinum Premier members that would have been staying over 100 nights and $20,000 of spend will enjoy the highest level of personalized service which called the popular ambassador program. Don’t you worry, members who have achieved Lifetime status will keep having their status recognized!
Anything else you should know of?
From the new introduction of the program all members will also be earning points for food and beverage and qualifying incidentals on their bill, rather than just the room rate, which is amazing! For more details on how the points will be counted, we recommend you to follow the Marriott news as we don’t want to provide you with invalid information!
No blackout dates, yes you’ve seen it right!
With no exceptions, all hotels from the loyalty portfolio will have no blackout dates for points redemptions. No more are those days you were pretty sad of not gaining any points at all from your hotel stay due to holiday dates or whatever the reason was!
