Myanmar: Best hipster cafe in Yangon @ Rangoon Teahouse

Yangon

Myanmar has been in the news for a host of different reasons, but one thing is for sure, it is quickly picking up as a tourist attraction. It is getting busy, so you need to go and see these few places before it explodes! Yangon is a city in crazy development. Burmese people that were aboard come back to invest in the country and the number of expats is growing every month, making the demand higher and higher with time. There are not a lot of nice cafes & restaurants just yet, but for this 24h in Yangon, we had friends showing us around the best spots to be at!

Meet Rangoon Teahouse. It has a beautiful decor and most importantly, the food is I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E. I even forgot to snap some pics of all the food we got. I recommend you to get the pork buns & the chocolate samosas with ice cream. The chocolate samosas were easily the best thing Mitch & I ever had in our lives hands down.

It can be tricky to find Rangoon Teahouse; it’s on the 2nd floor in a small old building. Once you get to 77-79 Pansodan St, it’s between Mahabandoola and Merchant Rd, Above a T-Land Mobile shop and to the right of May Pharmacy Yangon. Can’t get lost after this description!

Enjoy!

Rangoon Tea House draws inspiration from the heritage and tradition of the old city, the wonderful food and vibrant atmosphere of downtown.

Goodbye!
