Our Time Heist interactive game experience in Singapore

Now available until July 31 – so make your bookings fast!

Time Heist: Civic District, is a super cool live outdoor interactive experience that we enjoyed playing around the heart of Singapore. Created originally in 2012 by Derrick Chew and Sight Lines Entertainment began as a theatre company in Singapore which originally had been producing local and international works. However, due to Covid and other reasons, this had not been able to happen.

Since 2020, together with Creative Director Chong Tze Chien, the company has added another dimension to their repertoire, with this incredible live outdoor experience that combines an escape room, treasure hunt and multi-disciplinary storytelling all into one.

With a few of our closest friends, we decided to spend an afternoon playing Time Heist, to see if we can defeat the game. Hopefully, with all our world experience, we can solve all the puzzles that we need to.

Usually, we are not huge escape room fans, but this one feels different. The game involves a ton of different places, skills and plenty of movement as well. You can do this all and all you need is a fully charged mobile phone (as all your answers, clues and questions are on the web page). Anything else you want you can get in the area.

Well, we cannot tell you too much about our experience so we don’t give too much away. But, what we can tell you, is that it took us about three hours total to complete. This also includes two drink stops and a little relaxing between sites. So if you were super fast and ambitious, you can definitely do it in under two hours but would have to be running around everywhere.

We got to find lost objects, role-plays some characters from the future, solve puzzles, complete missions, and find key artefacts all together as a group. Make sure that you have your walking shoes on as you will be exploring some of Singapores’ coolest areas to find all the clues.

If you are looking for something to do in Singapore, this must be on your list. If you like thought-provoking challenges, team work and having fun with your friends, this may be for you. There are no time limits, so you can have as much fun with it as you want. In terms of difficulty, some were really easy, some were very hard. The website has a few extra help notes if you start to struggle. To be completely honest, Time Heist allowed us to learn more about Singapore than anything else in the several years we have been here so if you are looking for some culture, this game also has it!
