Sorae: Where to eat sushi in Saigon

Sorae is one of our favourite spots in HCMC to have a Japanese cuisine experience. The restaurant is divided in “concepts”, from a open sushi kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing the fresh seafood, to a complete Sake bar where you can try all kinds. Another open section is the Yakitori & beer kitchen where you can enjoy your food and also see the chefs preparing the signature classic yakitori skewers on bamboo that is cooked over char grill and you can also go to the whine bar or The Saigon Cigar Club. If you prefer a little more privacy, they have private rooms themed differently and each one narrates a different Japanese tradition/culture: Ryotei, Bonzai Garden, Sakura, Ginza, Fujiyama, Zen, Geisha, and Niwa. Check it out!

We tested the lunch sets, Maguro Yukhoe Don (Chopped tuna, spicy soy sauce, sushi rice) & Sushi Moriawase (6 kinds sushi, 1 maki) and all that accompanied with hot/cold green tea, steamed rice, miso soup, salad, appetizer of the day, pickles and dessert which is ice cream when I last got there.

Would definitely recommend Sorae for either lunch or dinner! Very affordable sushi in a great prime location at the 24-25th floor of the AB Tower (The Chill Bar building)
