Bangkok is a large city and there are many choices for places to stay from AirBnb’s to luxurious hotels. For our last visit to Bangkok, we bring you to a place Thuymi actually already stayed at 5 years ago: the Siam@Siam Bangkok, situated at a very central location. One of the things we look for when choosing hotels in Bangkok is value for money, quality and proximity to the main Sukhumvit area. Bangkok is an enormous city with hundreds of hotel options so it is easy to choose something that doesn’t tick all boxes. Siam@Siam is a hotel which combines great service, beautiful design and location which allows you to maximize the best of what Bangkok has to offer.

Where is Siam@Siam Bangkok located?

Siam@Siam is located 200m from the National Stadium BTS (Metro) line. From the BTS station, your access to the rest of Bangkok opens up exponentially. Both Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport are only 30 minutes away from the hotel and taxis and Grab app is easy to access and use.  The Siam district is known as the premier shopping district in all of Bangkok. They are a range of shopping malls in walking distance from the hotel. There are also plenty of tourist attractions less than a 10-minute walk away. Nana Plaza, the Erawan Shrine and the Jim Thomspon House are all very close to the hotel.

How to get around from Siam@Siam Bangkok?

There are 3 great ways to get around Bangkok. Siam@Siam is in such a good location which makes doing Bangkok so much easier. The BTS line is like the heartbeat of Bangkok as it connects parts of Bangkok together. It is about 1 $US for one way travel and is fast plus environmentally friendly. There is Grab App in Bangkok and it is a great way and a very cheap way to get around to the areas that are not on the BTS line. Just a reminder though, Bangkok is known for its crazy roads and peak period traffic becomes a nightmare, so just be aware of when you are travelling. If you love getting a close up look at how Bangkok feels, walking the streets from Siam@Siam is a great way to experience the true culture of Bangkok.

Dining at Siam@Siam Bangkok

Party House One is a loft style eating area which serves up a ton of international dishes. One of the best things about here is the amount of creative artwork and the constant music that resonates within the building. It is a large space and you can get a quiet spot to have a meal or a coffee. The Roof Gastro is on the top floor and offers diners a full 360-degree experience. You can see all of Bangkok as you dine in style. We had a huge meal up here and were so full by the end of it we couldn’t move afterwards. It was great to sit and have a quality meal watching the sun go down and the vibrant neon lights of Bangkok lighting up. The Roof Wine Bar is also on the same floor and is great to have a cocktail as you watch the sunset over the city. A highly recommended experience.

Facilities at Siam@Siam Bangkok

For a hotel based in the heart of Bangkok, there is plenty to do in the hotel itself. If you want to pay a little extra, you can get lounge access and we can tell you that it is worth every penny. It has a great view of the city and there are comfortable areas where you can get some quality work done in peace. Every afternoon they also have an afternoon tea with some scones, cakes and sticky mango rice to top it all off. Plus, who could say no to unlimited coffees all day?

Another highlight of Siam@Siam is the Infinity Pool. Not only it is great for a swim to escape the warm and humid Bangkok weather but the pool is also a photo lovers dream. Get up at 7 in the morning if you are looking for that nice and still shot with the chaotic Bangkok skyline, you will get a good one here.

We are fit-ish people and we like making sure that the hotel has a quality gym for us to work out. Siam@Siam does not disappoint. The gym area has a wide range of machines, free weights and plenty of space to get a good workout in. We were able to work out in peace and managed to get a few sessions in.

Siam@Siam Bangkok Rooms

We stayed on the Heritage Floor, which has a beautiful unique design compared to the other floors. It is a unique level and the finishings look like something from the colonial times. In the middle of the level is a pathway made from plants and lawn that allows the light in for rooms that do not have a window overlooking outside, something that we have never seen before in any other hotel.

We stayed in a large room with a living room, a few couches and a desk at the front of the room. The main bedroom was one of the bigger ones we have stayed in Bangkok and we had plenty of room to open up our suitcases all over the floor and still walk around. There is no traffic noise from the outside and you can make your room nice and dark if you prefer that.
The bathroom is large and has a double sink which is great as we both like our own space when it comes to bathrooms.

Sustainability at Siam@Siam Bangkok

Like most of Thailand, they are still playing catch up when it comes to plastic consumption as they still distribute plastic water bottles in every room and also straws. However, they are making a huge effort to become more green as they have effective systems for encouraging guests to save water by reusing towels and not changing bed sheets daily.

Our experiences at Siam@Siam Bangkok

The proximity to the BTS makes Siam@Siam a desirable place to stay. We appreciated our stay at the hotel and like the modern and artistic design. Every corner gave you an artistic and creative perspective which brings a positive vibe to the property. The staff is always smiling and very helpful, whether it be running after a taxi for us or helping us exchange money. It is one place to put on your list if you are in Bangkok for a few days.
