Brunch. There are not too many more enjoyable words in the English dictionary. Think great food, good company and a few drinks to enjoy the afternoon. We have been on the lookout for well-priced brunches here in Singapore, as this is one of the few things you can do in a small group here currently due to COVID. We have been invited to a media review of the Ultimate Sunday Brunch at Sofitel Sentosa Singapore, so you can know what to expect of you are looking to boo a brunch soon!
Where: Sofitel Sentosa Singapore, Sentosa Island
Who: You can have currently (due to COVID-19 regulations, up to 5 people in an eating group to enjoy the brunch with.
What’s included: The price for the brunch depends on how much you want to eat and drink. For 2-3 people, you can get the “Petit” (small in French) package which is S$158 ++ per food tower. To put things in context this was the option we had, just enough food for 3 pax to be full.
If you have 4-5 people, it will set you back S$298 ++ per food tower.
The basic package is inclusive of soft drinks, juices, coffee and teas. If you want to have the free flow champagne option, it will set you back S$68 for 2 hours and S$88 for 3 hours
If you are looking for something really fancy, you can add a caviar treat to your brunch at 30Grams S$30 or 60Grams S$60.
The food itself is a 3 tier pyramid of absolute goodness. The bottom layer is all the meat section, consisting of Tandoori marinated Spring Chicken, Rosti Potato, Lemon Grass scented chicken rice ball, Beef Rendang sliders, Black Angus Rib Eye, Child Crab Bun and Grilled Piri Piri Prawn Skewer.
The second tier of food is equally as tasty – with cheese lovers tasting set, a Charcuterie platter full of good meats, house-cured salmons and coated sourdough served with Avocado.
Third tier: is a desserts glamour – Belgian waffles with chocolate sauce and fresh berries and a Tasters Choice; comprising of lemon start, strawberry tart, Dark Rum Pecan tart and a Chocolate Macadamia tart.
Seafood platter: Lobster, king prawns, mussels were all on ice and on point. You better make sure you are with people willing to share as there is only 2 portions of most seafood items.
The service was generally good and was able to meet all of our service needs. The only room for improvement that we can take away from the experience was that we got the “Petit” for the 3 of us, and even though it was a VERY filling meal, there was only 2 of everything, so we couldn’t always share easily.
The food was absolutely delicious and there were a good variety of tastes, and sweet and sour. My personal favourites were the Steak cut, Chocolate Macadamia tart and Cured Salmon. Make sure you have insect repellent if you are planning to be seated outside as it is located near some bushes.
