One of the activities we have been hooked on recently since we have been overseas is Stand Up Paddle Boarding, or SUP‘ing for short. We have used it as a great way to stay fit and healthy, as well as exploring coastlines and enjoying the sun rays.
We made a decision to go out and try to purchase one, as renting them out so much was starting to add up. So we started our hunt, and found the market was quite expensive in Dubai. However, we heard along the grapevine about a surf company that were getting rid of some of their old rentals. We visited the Surf House Dubai and checked out the range of boards. They were very cheap and well priced for second hand boards, with very few knocks in them. So we saw one we liked and grabbed it straight away!
We had to wait a week to try out our new boards. We were so excited. We left them at the Sailing Club, so we picked them up in the morning and hit the water nice and early. The water was so calm as we made our way out towards the ocean. We just paddled for such a long time enjoying the skyline view of Dubai as we paddled.
I got a little caught up in the moment and realized I had paddled all downwind, which has left a lot of work to do coming back.
