As I ask people around Singapore where they would want to travel as soon as we are able to leisure travel again, many share their desire to go to Japan. Whilst travel isn’t possible, I have discovered an alternative at 2am:dessertbar, with Janice Wong presenting her high tea series, the current being the Geisha High Tea. It draws inspiration from a Geisha, meaning “a woman of the arts”. Janice aims to bring guests into a taste of Japan experience every weekend as she brings part of the Japanese culture to Singapore at 2am:dessertbar.
PS: The gorgeous lady in the photo with me is the lovely Charlotte Mei, you really should check her out!
Here you will find a range of Japanese-inspired items such as the Kakigori Kinkan Vanilla Cream, Chocolate Soba Cha Monaka, Grilled Dango glazed with passionfruit white miso and the Temari Sushi in assorted flavours of Tuna, Salmon and Scallop, that will take you right back to Japan! You are invited to grill the dango to your liking! We were recommended to glaze the dango first, then grill!
The journey continues with the Kyoto Matcha, Katsu Sando, Ichigo Dafuku, Wagashi, Coffee dorayaki and the Raindrop cake.
Chef and Artist Janice Wong really wants to stay on theme of travel for the menu and bring a little magic from Japan to Singapore by curate a special experience for her guests to enjoy. She makes sure to share her favourite parts of Japan, a country that is special and that she holds dear to her heart.
The Geisha High Tea will be running every weekend until 31 March 2021 at 2am:dessertbar, located in Holland Village. It is very conveniently located walking distance from the MRT if you feel like going there by public transport. Reservations can be made at 2am:dessertbar website.
