Vegan Restaurant in Singapore: Real Food

Real Food at South Beach is a restaurant run by people who believe in serving good food that is ethical and healthy. You will find a variety of meat-free dishes prepared with ingredients devoid of preservatives and additives. The owners really believe in “No processed ingredients, No Artificial Preservatives and No Trans-fat”.

It is a trendy cafe-style looking restaurant that is founded by people of the organic grocery shop Real Food Grocer. The restaurant is cosy with small wooden dining tables, communal tables as well as some stylish grey sofas with low marble top tables. With several outlets around the Island, the outlet we visited is located at the basement level of South Beach.

The menu of Real Food at South Beach is extensive, with both Western and Asian options. Find healthy salad and juices, all-day breakfast items, burgers, pasta, rice and even noodle dishes. If you feel like pizza, there is also a separate menu especially for pizza. If you are vegetarian or vegan, Real Food is the place to go or to bring the visitors of yours that have a bit more restrictive diet. Vegan items and those with onion/garlic are clearly marked and easy to identify.

Healthy Eating in Singapore at Real Food

The Fried Vegetarian Dumplings (SGD $10.80) are my favourite although they don’t look as exciting as the normal fried dumplings. They come with a very crispy skin and a yummy filling of mixed vegetables. Mitch enjoyed his mushroom burger and the crispy onion rings, which I, of course, have stolen some bites from.

Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious, but we were still hungry. For the portions and quality/price, the restaurant is quite expensive, but we would for sure return again if looking for a healthy option.
