VinPearl Luxury Hotel Landmark 81: Staying in the tallest building in Vietnam

Vinpearl luxury landmark 81

As hosted media and guest speakers at a seminar about the Middle East Travel Market to Vietnam and the Mekong, we had the privilege to stay at the VinPearl Luxury Hotel in Landmark 81, Vietnam’s tallest building and the fourth tallest in all of Asia. Ho Chi Minh City was a place we used to live, so staying in this huge building for the first time was certainly a special feeling.

As you enter the first lobby, you will be guided to the 48th floor, home to the real reception area and the lifts carrying you around the hotel rooms, facilities and other cafe, bars, viewpoints of Landmark 81. Upon check-in, you will be greeted with a Vietnamese fruit drink and staff eager to take bags off of you to enjoy a swift check-in process. The lifts can be slow at rush hours but in general, are fast and effective. To access the room and hotel facilities, you will need your card to access all the floors.

When you stay at the VinPearl Luxury Hotel, make sure you request to get a room facing the skyline of Saigon. While you have incredible views all the way around, the city view really gives you an extra appreciation of the place.

Facilities at the VinPearl Luxury Hotel

The infinity swimming pool, located on the 47th floor, is a great spot to relax and chill. With only four lounge chairs, you will have to wait if it is a busy day! The view the pool looks over District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City and the most happening and exciting part of tow. It can be a good place to gather and have a cocktail as there is a bar right by the pool. It is really quieter in the morning, great for a swim to escape the heat on midday and breathtaking at sunset.

Also located on the 47th floor is the fitness area. I can safely say that this is one of the most impressive hotel gyms I have had the pleasure of using in town. Not only is there state of the art equipment but the workout room faces right out to the city and has a tremendous view of the sunset.

If you need to get some more “me-time”, there is Akoya Spa located on the 47th floor and has both a spa and jacuzzi that you can use as a guest at any time. They also provide spa, health and massage services. Note that the wet facilities are separated for men and women, made perfectly for guests from the Middle East.

Things you can do near VinPearl Luxury Hotel

Landmark 81 also home to NEST Cafe on floor 76, so you can get your local coffee fix and also get plenty of uninterrupted work done as well. Note that this is independent of the hotel and prices here are also steep considering its prime location. If you want to go there around lunch or dinner time, a reservation is a good idea as they can be difficult to let you access the place considering they don’t want wanderers not consuming anything and settling there just to take photos! An Ice bar, a club and much more can also be found in Landmark 81, make sure you go explore, including the mall at the ground and basement floors.

Whilst staying in this building, you can check the Observation Deck on Level 81, which costs about 40 dollars (800,000 VND) for a ticket which includes on top of the view: VR Games, 3D videos and interactive TV screens. Ask your concierge as they are really helpful to get you any tickets you desire. VinPearl Luxury Hotel is lucky to also have a Clefs d’Or member, so do make use of his presence there!

Breakfast

Every morning we had our breakfast at the Oriental Pearl Restaurant on the 66th floor. We had a wide array of both international and local cuisine. Every day there is a different local Vietnamese dish starred, one day it is “Banh Mi”, another day it can be “Xoi”, etc. Thuymi was in heaven as she ate bowls of Vietnamese noodles every morning.

Our Room at the VinPearl Luxury Hotel

We stayed in a Premier Room with a King Bed. The room, like most luxury properties, is spacious and has all the basic amenities that you would expect. The electronic room system was a great addition to the room and you could control everything from an iPad-like device.

Our Experience at the VinPearl Luxury Hotel

We had an extremely enjoyable stay at the hotel with the best views of Ho Chi Minh City. The breakfast and the fitness area are our highlights of the hotel. Hope this review was comprehensive and do let us know in the comment section below how was your own experience if you end up staying here.

Xinh chao!
