InstaMeet #LifeOnEarthWWIM13

Friday 22nd of April 2016 was the Worldwide InstaMeet 13! We joined thousands and thousands in every corner of the world, during the weekend of April 22-24 to explore new places that enables creative minds and passionate minds to share photographic tips & tricks, and take photos.

As it was on Earth Day (April 22), the InstaMeet theme was to celebrate the wonder and beauty of our planet together. That day, we share many beautiful memories on the #LifeOnEarthWWIM13. The Instagram community is quite amazing, we were very happy to be invited by the beautiful Marj to join an exclusive Instameet in Hatta, Dubai.

Hatta always has been a place Mitch & I wanted to visit but never made some time, so this InstaMeet was just spot on the timing! Hatta is a beautiful area in between the UAE & Oman and due to some restrictions, travellers gets lazy to get there. We will make sure to cover that subject another time!

After a long work week for both of us, we had to get up at 4:15AM on a Friday morning to meet all our counterparts at 5:30AM in Deira. We (well…me mostly) are not good morning people… like we don’t struggle at all waking up weekdays at 5:30AM to get to work (sarcasm)! So of course we got there in time and hopped on the bus to get there. Marj & Patrick did an amazing job getting some great sponsors to make that day happen!

So our 1st stop – Breakfast at McDonalds! Complimentary meal from the Big M made everyone alive again, with most people downing the coffees, except us, currently in a 4 month in a row run without eating McDonalds! We love it though, just couldn’t break that “record” that easily!

We arrived at the Hatta Dam at around 9AM, jumping over a few fences and made our way to the water and started snapping. We all went photo crazy for the best part of an hour, with everyone helping others how to take photos better and taking cool shots.

Next stop was Hatta Heritage Village, exclusively as open a Friday for our group! Big thanks to the Dubai Culture Team. The Heritage Village is a cool area which showed how they used to live in the region. It was interesting to learn how the village was set up and how they kept everything cool in the heat! We snapped some good pics of the fort there. The early morning had gotten to everyone – we have had started to be exhausted already by the heat.

We then headed to JA Hatta Fort Hotel for a big lunch buffet and some snaps of the hotel. Not only was it amazing food and company, but there are so many things to do here. Driving Range, Shooting Range, several pools, Tennis Court, Animal Area, Mini Golf – all with spectacular mountain views! Our personal fav was the Archery.

After a long day of photos, driving and sun – we jumped back in the bus home to hit Dubai at about 6PM. Great day. Met passionate people. Beautiful results.

Enjoy the pictures!
