If you are visiting Dubai, you have to take some time to spend at Al Bastakiya, a beautiful artsy meets heritage neighbourhood in Old Dubai, situated on the Deira Creek side of town.
Situated along the bank of the Dubai Creek, Al Bastakiya is our favourite place to bring visitors very early in the morning when nobody is around. This place is known as the place where rich merchants use to live. You will have fun getting lost in the narrow alleys and discovering many coffee shops and art galleries. You can find a few beautiful wall art installations as well. Don’t forget to have a tea or breakfast at the beautiful Arabian Tea House. Start the day here before moving to the next attraction of the area, the Dubai Museum!
Ok… is it really hidden? Maybe not for some Dubai residents, but surprisingly many have never step foot here and often forget to bring their friends and family here, so don’t make that mistake and save some time to go shoot your Instagram photos just right here at Al Bastakiya!
Opening Hours: The neighbourhood has no opening hours, but get there at 8 AM to make sure coffee shops are open
How to get there: Recommended to take a cab and if you drive to be with your family, the earliest the better to catch parking.
